Biography

James "Jimmy" Caporusso was appointed Township Administrator on July 13, 2021 bringing over 25 years of experience working with both local and state government. As Township Administrator he is responsible for the proper day to day administration of all affairs of the Township and for planning and developing Township programs, policies and activities.

Prior to his appointment as Leyden Township Administrator, James Caporusso served as Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Organizational Resources at Aunt Martha's Health and Wellness a not-for-profit organization serving over 105,000 children and adults throughout over 600 communities in Illinois providing integrated primary and family health care and child welfare services. He previously worked in the Illinois House of Representatives for former State Representative Angelo "Skip" Saviano as his Legislative Aide and Chief of Staff, the West Central Municipal Conference as Assistant to the Executive Director, the West Cook County Solid Waste Agency as Environmental Coordinator, and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation as Director of Policy and as Director of Administrative Services.

James Caporusso has a Bachelor's degree in Political Studies and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). He previously served as Village Trustee in the Village of Franklin Park and as Chair of the Franklin Park Planning Commission. He also served on the Franklin Park Library Board Village Board of Trustees. He member of the River Grove Lions Club and past member of Keep West Cook Beautiful and Keep Illinois Beautiful committees. He was awarded the Keep Chicago Beautiful Award in Recycling for his innovative way of disposing electronics in West Cook County.
